The Hidenoyama Stable of sumo wrestling is coming to Itami!

In preparation for the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament (Osaka), the Hidenoyama stable, led by stablemaster Hidenoyama (former ozeki Kotoshogiku), will be staying in Itami City.

The stay will be for about one month, from late February to late March, and the wrestlers will live and train in lodgings within the city.

About Hidenoyama stable

Former ozeki Kotoshogiku completed his hair-cutting ceremony in 2022 and established the Hidenoyama stable in Higashi-Mukojima 4-chome, Sumida-ku, Tokyo. This is the first revival in 110 years since it closed in 1914, and it is said to be the newest sumo stable as of November 2024.

Observation

Anyone can visit.
*When visiting, please pray to the deity Inano ni imasu Ookami (Takehayasusanoo-no-mikoto), who is enshrined in the main hall, and wish the wrestlers good luck in their endeavours.

Notes

• There is no parking or bicycle parking for visitors. Please use the coin-operated parking and bicycle parking facilities in the vicinity.
• Please follow the instructions of the security guards.
• Morning training will not take place at this location on Sunday 2 March due to the Osaka Union training.
